"It's been an incredible honor to run a principled campaign for the White House," Paul said in a statement. "Today, I will end where I began, ready and willing to fight for the cause of liberty. - Senator Rand PaulMany hoped the candidacy of Senator Rand Paul would capture the fire of those angry with establishment politics, but it simply hasn't. To be fair, his chances were limited by a very large Republican primary field and the realty-show star power and megabucks of Donald Trump. Unlike other poll predictions leading to the Iowa caucus, Paul finished in fifth place as expected.
Now the Kentucky Senator must focus on holding his Senate seat and others in the race should take a hard look at their campaigns and assess whether it is in the country's best interest to stay in the race to siphon votes from the top tier of candidates with the best chance to take on the Clinton machine.
The day @JebBush @johnkasich @chrischristie suspend their campaigns is long overdue. The people do not want them now.TY honorable @RandPaul— Kris Held,MD (@kksheld) February 3, 2016
