Trump Shouldn't Throw Stones from His Glass Mansion

by Kim D.

Well, you are what you read, so they say. Evidently the Trump campaign is so desperate to slam Senator Cruz and paint him as a lying right-wing nut job, that they have to turn to progressive, liberal blogs to quote in order to score a political jab. That in itself is a YUGE fail. However, someone on the Trump train (cough, cough - Dan Scavino) didn't take time to vet the gotcha he tweeted.

Trump loves to weep and gnash his teeth whenever he feels the truth has been stretched against his candidacy, but apparently he has no problem tweeting blatant lies. And, yes, I know Trump has deleted his original tweet once he got slapped with the truth about what Coburn did or did not say. Unfortunately, he is still repeating the falsehood at his South Carolina rallies.

The problem with Scavino's current tweet (see above screenshot), which was retweeted by tons of Trumpkins, is that it is completely false. As of Wednesday morning (2/17), the tweet remains on Scavino's timeline. In the propaganda piece written October 18, 2015 by Allen Clifton in Forward Progressives, Senator Tom Coburn is quoted as saying the following:
I’ve made no secret of my total disdain for Sen. Ted Cruz. He epitomizes everything that’s wrong with the Republican party. He is, without a doubt, one of the most dishonest people in Washington and, in my opinion, a complete sociopath.
Yesterday the record was corrected by numerous publications. One, The Washington Examiner, sets the record straight with an actual quote from Senator Coburn:
Coburn even went a step further in expressing - by omission - who he believed would be the best candidate to win the Republican nomination:
To anyone who wants to explore this issue further, a good chronicling of this Trump train wreck can be found in Jake Tapper's "How the Internet helps spread 2016 falsehoods." For me, I've heard enough and can no longer take anything Trump whines about seriously. Candidates who live in glass mansions shouldn't throw stones.
