Can Democrats Defeat #Terrorism if They Don't Understand it?

by Kim D.
Therein lies the illogic to the democratic argument that climate change is America's top security threat, larger than terrorism. Bernie Sanders took it another step further in last night's debate, firmly stating that climate change is directly linked to the growth of terrorism:

For argument's sake, let's pretend that those in the Democrat party, in contrast to Republican counterparts, have a superior intellect and grasp climate change concepts better. Why can't they explain the problem in a convincing way? Barack Obama began this narrative in 2008 and, according to Breitbart, the administration has made the link between climate change and terrorism at least 22 times publicly.

Example:
On February 10, 2015, when asked to confirm if this means Obama believes “the threat of climate change is greater than the threat of terrorism,” Earnest responded, “The point the president is making is that there are many more people on an annual basis who have to confront the impact, the direct impact on their lives, of climate change, or on the spread of a disease, than on terrorism.”
Let's also assume, again for argument's sake, that climate change is indeed growing at an alarming rate and its effects are especially harsh for those living in the Middle East region. Why then has Israel not succumbed to climate change and committed acts of terrorism like what we witnessed in Paris two days ago? The answer leads back to the only logical conclusion - the Islam faith is more susceptible to perversion, opening a giant door to welcome extremist views sanctioning horrendous actions.

If we are going to have an honest discussion about climate change and terrorism, democrats must include the Islamic faith as a contributing factor. This will, of course, offend any Muslim who practices peaceful Islam. This is exactly the feeling Christians have when the Crusades are thrown in their face. However, it should be noted, we are not currently living in the Middle Ages and Christians are not beheading Muslims and attacking random, innocent people with suicide bombings.
