The insanity of the redistribution of wealth concept that liberal
progressives hold sacrosanct as one of their secular commandments, is
not only insane, it's a complete fallacy. What we are seeing is a
landslide of the radical political left to a hybridized form of
socialism. Let's look at one element of the neo-socialism the the
radical leftists running for president are espousing.
Four of the five Democrats running for president believe in
redistribution of wealth and other fairy tales, but let's focus on
redistribution of wealth to be paid for by robbing the rich with an
advertised 50% income tax on the magical 1% of the very wealthy. Of
course liberal progressives don't indicate at what income level that
50% tax would levied against, since it's much easier to demonize a
number than it is to actually demonize real people So, they talk
about hitting the magical 1% with that tax to pay for their pie in the
sky mental aberration of wealth redistribution.
The problem with this fuzzy liberal math, and I'm being generous when
I call it fuzzy math, is that the wealth extracted from legalized
government extortion by force would not find its way to the other 99%
of Americans when it would, by necessity, have to wind its way through
the federal bureaucracy. In other words robbing the rich to provide
for the not so rich would be eaten up by the federal government before
it could ever find its way to the poor and the broadly defined middle
class, as liberal progressives would like people believe.
What is really insidious about the fuzzy math of liberals is what is
unspoken. Liberal progressives really do know that the 1% taxed at
50% will not pay for any meaningful redistribution of wealth. What
they won't say outside the hallowed halls of their musty minds is that
taxes will also have to be raised on the middle to upper middle class,
which could be 25% of taxpayers or more, to redistribute any wealth to
the poor or lower middle class.
The real middle to upper middle class is where the money is at and is
the easiest to extract tax revenues from, simply because the truly
wealthy have the means and the money to hire the best of tax attorneys
to shelter their money from the prying eyes and reach of that
organized crime organization called the IRS.
These liberal progressives also know that their pipe dream of taxing
the uber wealthy is just a campaign ploy to attract the low
information voters. It's simply a craven ploy to emotion and envy
among their unsophisticated and ignorant supporters. Watch for more
of this strategy to appear in subsequent Democratic debates and on the
campaign trail. It will raise its ugly head many times between now
and the general election.
