With Governor Rick Perry's presidential intentions now declared, Texas now has two top political figures vying for the White House. While this is the first attempt for Texas Senator Ted Cruz, for Perry, this is a "do-over" campaign which will hopefully present a more seasoned candidate that plagued his 2012 primary attempt.
With Perry's announcement, this brings the total GOP candidate count to 10. Rumor has it that the 11th, Jeb Bush, will declare his candidacy on June 15th.
