Rand Paul #PatriotAct PAC Ad Takes Aim at Obama, Cruz, and Graham

by Kim D.

Is this new Rand Paul ad hip or hype? With the Patriot Act set to expire tomorrow, today's Senate vote will decide if 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Rand Paul has been successful in his highly controversial block to any extension of the surveillance law. In this ad, the Paul friendly America's Liberty PAC reduces the issue to the comedic level of a monster truck rally and takes personal jabs at Obama and Republican primary challengers Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham.

Perhaps Rand and his Super PAC should just stick to the facts and be a bit more sincere about undoing legislation that many believe is a defensive weapon against terrorism, like he did in his released statement to Politico:

“I have fought for several years now to end the illegal spying of the NSA on ordinary Americans. The callous use of general warrants and the disregard for the Bill of Rights must end. Forcing us to choose between our rights and our safety is a false choice and we are better than that as a nation and as a people. “That’s why two years ago, I sued the NSA. It’s why I proposed the Fourth Amendment Protection Act. It’s why I have been seeking for months to have a full, open and honest debate on this issue— a debate that never came. “So last week, seeing proponents of this illegal spying rushing toward a deadline to wholesale renew this unconstitutional power, I filibustered the bill. I spoke for over 10 hours to call attention to the vast expansion of the spy state and the corresponding erosion of our liberties.“Then, last week, I further blocked the extension of these powers and the Senate adjourned for recess rather than stay and debate them. “Tomorrow, we will come back with just hours left before the NSA illegal spying powers expire. “Let me be clear: I acknowledge the need for a robust intelligence agency and for a vigilant national security.“I believe we must fight terrorism, and I believe we must stand strong against our enemies.“But we do not need to give up who we are to defeat them. In fact, we must not.“There has to be another way. We must find it together.“So tomorrow, I will force the expiration of the NSA illegal spy program.

Rand Paul Pushes Democrats to Defend Their Stance on Abortion and When Unborn Babies have Rights

When politics and abortion are used in the same sentence, eyes generally start rolling into the back of people's head and the grumbling usually starts.  Most of the time it's mumbling about how "Republicans want to deny women birth control" and "conservatives want to control women's bodies."

However, now Republicans like President hopeful Rand Paul are turning the tables on the Democrats like brainless DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

It all started last Wednesday in New Hampshire when a CNN reporter asked Senator Paul to clarify his stance on exemptions to abortion restrictions.

“You go back and you ask Debbie Wasserman Schultz if she’s OK with killing a seven-pound baby that is just not yet born yet,” Paul responded.

Paul thinks we on the right have made our position quite clear and it's time that the right stops defending our stance and starts getting the left to start justifying their position and expose their radical views on abortion and killing babies. Do they really feel justified in killing a 7 pound baby in the third trimester and voting against the late-term abortion bills time and time again?

Paul has suggested that Wasserman Schultz and the DNC endorse the “killing” of babies and Wasserman Schultz has, in turn, insinuated that Paul would be willing to “let a woman die” if her life were endangered by pregnancy.

What he is trying to do is show how radical the Democratic ideals are, regarding abortion, and how Democrats aren't just stripping our rights, but denying unborn babies their rights.  Remember what Barbara Boxer said?  It's not a "baby" with rights, "until you bring it home from the hospital." So, a botched abortion, where the baby is breathing and viable, would be allowed to suffer and die, if she were the attending physician.

“I think when you bring your baby home, when your baby is born … the baby belongs to your family and has all the rights.” Read more Catholic Register

So, maybe the GOP is on the right track here.  Stop arguing over our beliefs and defending what we stand for and start making them not only state what they stand for but defend it.  Are you willing to kill an 8-month-old baby, even after a botched abortion? How radical are they? Better still, are the American people as "pro-choice" as they think they are, and would they choose adoption if they knew procrastinators were killing viable babies, "just because I can?"

It's sad to think that something so beautiful and a process so miraculous can be discarded so effortlessly, as if being tossed away like snot in Kleenex, instead of the new life that was never asked to be created.   Now, according to this Administration, abortion and killing babies is considered Health Care.

If it's a "woman's right" to kill, it should also be her "responsibility" to pay for the cleanup and prevention, if she chooses, since she put herself in that situation. Myself and every other US taxpayer weren't invited into her bedroom. Therefore if she doesn't want our opinion, she shouldn't ask for our wallet.

#RandPaul Announces Candidacy and @PPact #PlannedParenthood Goes in Meltdown Mode

by Kim D.

Yesterday Kentucky Senator Rand Paul announced his 2016 presidential candidacy which literally put the fear of God into Planned Parenthood. The organization immediately began a tweet fest with the hashtag #NotMyCandidate.
Then the rhetoric ramped up even more. After all, Paul is a proponent of the Life at Conception Act.
But Planned Parenthood's trolling wasn't appreciated by everyone:

#ICYMI - #RandPaul Enters Primary Race for 2016

by Kim D.

At this point, Rand Paul, is not my first choice to see Republicans lead the charge to take back the country from an overbearing government. For instance, his trolling of Republican candidates has not set well with me, especially when Cruz announced his candidacy at Liberty University and the Paul Pac made sure a segment of students attending wore "Stand with Rand" shirts. However, I will say Paul's speech to announce his candidacy was a smart one given in sound bites. And, at this point, the more conservative-minded candidates who enter the race the merrier, especially if it wards off an establishment candidate doomed for failure, like, for instance, Jeb Bush or Mike Huckabee.
