Obama's not so subtle message to Bibi Netanyahu: Mess with me and see what might happen.

By Rob Janicki

President Petulant on Thursday, and only after finally calling Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyshu to congratulate him on his Tuesday re-election victory, could not resist making a veiled threat to remind Netanyahu that there could be consequences for crossing the Petulant One.

White House insiders and those who follow the Petulant One have admitted that Obama has had a vendetta of sorts with or against Netanyahu for the past six years.  Obama's message on Thursday was clear for anyone to see.  The message being, anyone who crosses Obama may suffer consequences.  I can see Valerie Jarrett behind this not so subtle message.

President Barack Obama on Thursday warned Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington will "re-assess" its policies after the prime minister's election win called into question crucial US diplomatic cover for Israel at the UN.

Obama, his advisers and allies did everything possible to secure Netanyahu's loss for re-election on this past Tuesday, only to come up short in their effort to sabotage Netanyahu's revelation chances.  Former Obama activists accomplished in getting out the vote had gone to Israel to craft a campaign to support Netanyahu's leftist opponent.  Not only did this campaign effort fail by Obama's sycophants, but it failed monumentally as Netahyahu, against all the recent polling, pulled out a near landslide victory.  All that is left for Netanyahu to do is pull together a crafted coalition within the Israeli Parliament (Knesett) with the potential of having a greater coalition going forward than Netanyahu's Likud Party has already managed up to now.

The Petulant One would, in a not so veiled threat, threw out the following comment.

... the White House indicated it could withdraw its unwavering support for Israel at the United Nations. The United States -- a veto-wielding member of the UN Security Council -- has opposed moves at the UN to recognize a Palestinian state, saying that must be part of a negotiated peace deal.

This is no small threat to be casually brushed aside and I am quite certain it came across loud and clear with Bibi Netanyahu.  But, It's one thing for Obama to lay down this threat marker and it's also another thing to actually exercise the threat, since the Jewish influence in Congress, coupled with Republicans supporting Israel, would seemingly be a political price too great for even Obama to pay.  But, Obama has less than two years left in his second term of office and, like a trapped animal, he may not act rationally or even to his normal form.

In any event, Obama's behavior is being viewed as juvenile and beneath the dignity of the presidency, but then again that has never deterred Obama from such similar behavior in the past.  The greatest fear Americans should have is whether Obama has decided that his time is better spent in establishing some kind of legacy, rather than having a hands on role in foreign policy development and execution.  Meanwhile, that leaves Susan Rice and Valerie Jarrett in charge of foreign relations efforts.  Now that is really scary.
