Venezuela's Maduro Gives #FeelTheBern a Huge Thumbs up!
by Kim D.
Who is shocked that Venezuela's dictator thinks old Bernie is the cat's meow? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Hmmm . . . I wonder what Bernie thinks about his recent endorsement?
Only in 2016 with no hope for effective government change entering the White House following Obama's eight years of dismal and divisive policies could Democratic Socialism be a considered vision for America. What most of us thought laughable and impossible for the direction of this country actually has a chance down the road.
Bernie may never enter the Oval Office; however, the work he has done to promote socialism will be viewed by the history books as significant. And if our education system continues to paint equality ideals with a Utopian paintbrush, in 2020 a celebrity willing to sign on to further promote "the cause" could be successful in bringing these ideals to the highest office in our land.
Anyone doubt it? Take a gander at this nifty piece from Dan Joseph:

During a television broadcast on Tuesday night, Maduro -- who has expressed support for Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, in the past -- called the Democratic candidate "our revolutionary friend" and said it was only "an archaic (electoral) system that is 200 years old" keeping him from the presidency.Secretly, I bet Bernie loves the praise from his comrade and former bus driver. However, I think he would argue his special kind of Democratic Socialism would be different than the soul-sucking disaster that is day-to-day misery in Venezuela. This form of socialism is dangerously tipping toward economic armageddon.

Same protest, different results

Remember Cindy Sheehan? The media couldn’t get enough of her in 2005 when she slept in a pup tent three miles outside George W. Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, protesting the Iraq War, in which her son Casey died.
Actors, singers and civil rights types dropped in, knowing cameras would follow. She was called “the Rosa Parks of the anti-war movement.” Her peace tour of 42 cities in 26 states gained international attention. She wrote books and was arrested for demonstrating in front of the White House.
In 2008, things changed. Ms. Sheehan ran against liberal deity Nancy Pelosi for Congress, finishing second in a seven-candidate Democratic primary. After President Obama was sworn in, January 2009, Ms. Sheehan continued her anti-war protests. Not surprisingly, the microphones and notepads disappeared; talk about a Hollywood biopic evaporated overnight.
To me, this proves that anti-war protests are really anti-Republican protests, and always have been since the days of Nixon. Perhaps the likeable Ms. Sheehan will make a comeback. That could happen the next time there is a GOP president – and not one minute before.

Charles
Gibson anchored ABC’s “World News Tonight” at the time and got caught
confirming the intellectual dishonesty of the Washington press corps, telling a
radio show:
“It’s such a sad story. Martha Raddatz [of ABC News] wrote aterrific book about one battle that took place in Iraq, and it was the battlein which Cindy’s son was killed. And you look at somebody like that and youthink here’s somebody who’s just trying to find some meaning in her son’sdeath. And you have to be sympathetic to her. Anybody who has given a son tothis country has made an enormous sacrifice, and you have to be sympathetic. Butenough already.”

Mizz Katie, Dominatrix of P.C. News, feels the tip of the whip on her boohiney. Ouch
Ever hear of 60 Minutes? 20/20? Network news shows? Newspapers?
News magazines? Sure you have. What do all these have in common?
Low reader
and viewer counts, that's what.
Why
have these been losing readers and viewers? Because the writers, editors, and
producers think all folks are stupid and gullible, and they believe they are
brilliant and have all the answers, so they continue to feed packs of lies in
support of their politically correct agendas by doing just what Katie Couric
did in her, chuckle-chuckle,
latest search for understanding of another's viewpoint.
Here's
the latest spin-kerfuffle Couric has gotten into: Click this link to see and read more about it.
When called on it -- with
evidence showing the manipulation -- Couric quickly delivered her
non-apology and told us how she herself questioned the editing, but that she
allowed her producer to talk her into it -- poetic license and all that in the
service of higher journalism, blah,
blah, blah.
Yes, yes! Couric's
producer fell on her sword and took full responsibility for those eight
long seconds of silence -- the producer called them a beat
(notice the singular usage when 8 is definitely plural) -- interspliced
with quick cuts of the faces of those being interviewed on the Serious Subject of Guns.
That
silence and those quick cuts -- deliberately chosen and placed just so -- made the
interviewees look:
Stupid.
Guilty.
Ashamed.
Inattentive.
And nuts.
Which, of course, Mizz
Katie believes all people who don't believe like her are, and so the edit did
exactly what she wanted it to do.
Eight seconds of silence is a long time in TV.
Especially if it is eight seconds of spin to drive a politically correct
narrative -- and you get caught spinning.
The new media is being made by those who are tired of the spin.
People such as little ol' me, who are tired of being fed the party line no
matter what party it is, and who are embedded in the front lines of their
businesses, their communities, and so forth, are stepping up to the plate and
telling it like it is and we will find a way to get that message out.
This blog is part of that
new media. Thank you for reading it.
Ladies, go back to your softball
By Mouser the King Cat
Powder-puff football games – that is, competition involving all-girl teams – are hardly a novel idea. But the one at Jupiter High School in Florida was special, because it was thought to be the last remaining one in the country where the young ladies played tackle football, using equipment borrowed from the boys.
Powder-puff football games – that is, competition involving all-girl teams – are hardly a novel idea. But the one at Jupiter High School in Florida was special, because it was thought to be the last remaining one in the country where the young ladies played tackle football, using equipment borrowed from the boys.
It was
seniors vs. juniors for 50 years, with the stands packed. But this spring’s
game has been canceled by the principal of the school, Dan Frank. Somebody
might get hurt, ya’know, and it happened a few years back when a girl broke her
leg. The principal’s statement, via The Associated Press:
Student safety is my
first priority. The narrow window of time for student preparation and practice,
and the limited availability of properly fitting safety equipment, would put
our students at risk.
Never mind
that because of lawsuits real and threatened, girls can play on BOYS teams in
Florida. Several soccer stars have made the transition to placekicker. In a
neighboring county, a girl took snaps as a backup quarterback. Flag football
for girls is a sanctioned sport, as are soccer, basketball, softball and
cheerleading, all of which produce injuries. Alas, no logic could ever persuade
a chickensh** school administrator on a mission.
So this
year’s seniors and juniors, and likely those who follow, will miss out on the
memories of playing before cheering fans, cheered on by boys wearing crop tops
and wigs. Said Haley Osborne, a 17-year-old senior: “The game makes our town
special. It is a once-in-a-lifetime or maybe twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
You can’t come back when you are 30 and play.”
Things like
this validate my opinion of high school: Gut it out, get your diploma and run
like the wind, never looking back at any of the idiots you had to suffer.
