I wonder what it would have been like to be in a gathered crowd called to listen to the renewal of God's Covenant. I imagine looking around at the faces turned upwards towards Moses, listening in awe to one of the most important messages they would ever hear:
9 Carefully follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do. 10 All of you are standing today in the presence of the Lord your God—your leaders and chief men, your elders and officials, and all the other men of Israel, 11 together with your children and your wives, and the foreigners living in your camps who chop your wood and carry your water. 12 You are standing here in order to enter into a covenant with the Lord your God, a covenant the Lord is making with you this day and sealing with an oath, 13 to confirm you this day as his people, that he may be your God as he promised you and as he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 14 I am making this covenant, with its oath, not only with you 15 who are standing here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God but also with those who are not here today. If you are interested, and I hope you are, continue reading God's Covenant as conveyed through Moses to a gathered crowd of Israelites. Eerily, America finds itself in a similar predicament, much like Moses and his people. Unfortunately, many of our leaders have turned away from God and his Covenant. They choose death over life. They will fund Planned Parenthood despite the exposure of its mission to abort babies and desecrate their remains for profit. They choose to enter into a horrid deal with Iran which will ultimately fund the regime's goal to obtain a nuclear weapon to wipe Israel off the face of the earth along with America, who they call "The Great Satan."
Now is the time for every American to choose. Will it be life or death? Who among us will stand tomorrow with those on the West Lawn of the US Capitol in Washington to speak loudly against the Iran Deal? Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9th, at 1 pm EST, Senator Ted Cruz will be joined by a host of other speakers to stand for the majority of Americans who believe Obama's Iran Deal reeks and should be stopped. Those who cannot be at the rally in Washington can Livestream the event and be there in spirit.
As Congress returns back to work this week, they face two important votes; however, according to Republican Congressional leadership, what's the point in voting against funding Planned Parenthood or saying "no" to the Iran Deal? Obama will quickly whip out his pen and veto any such bills. It's a fruitless act. Obama claims he has the votes to ensure that neither the House nor the Senate will have a two-thirds majority to overturn his veto power. No matter the fight, life is destined to lose; Planned Parenthood gets its funding to abort more babies and sell off fetal body parts and the bad Iran Deal will be rubber stamped "approved."
So, what's the point in putting up a fight. Why should anyone speak loudly against the act of choosing death over life? Well, I guess, that all depends with whom you have your Covenant: Obama or God.
