The Clinton Foundation accepted millions of dollars from major fossil
fuel companies — including those lobbying the State Department before
its 2009 approval of a controversial pipeline, the International Business Times reports.
The report comes on the heels of Clinton's angry denial of taking money
from fossil fuel companies, accusing rival Sen. Bernie Sanders'
presidential campaign of lying about her.
The IBTimes, citing federal lobbying records, reports Chevron,
ConocoPhillips and a trade group funded by ExxonMobil lobbied the State
Department — when Clinton headed it as secretary of state — on the issue
of oil sands in the months prior to the department's approval of a
400-mile pipeline to carry 450,000 barrels of oil a day from the
Canadian oils sands to Wisconsin...
