Blue Bell Has Arrived in Houston!

Ever since Blue Bell ice cream was pulled from grocery story shelves in the wake of a Listeria recall, Texans have been in mourning and have suffered through a brutal summer with Breyers and Ben & Jerry. That ends today as trucks began unloaded Blue Bell ice cream and restocking the freezer section of multiple Randalls, HEB, Wal Mart, and Kroger stores.

The company said that because it is currently only producing ice cream in one facility, it will re-enter parts of 15 states in five phases. Production facilities in Brenham and Oklahoma are undergoing "process upgrades similar to those made at the Alabama plant."

The first phase will include Brenham, Houston and Austin as well as parts of Alabama, where the product is being made. 

The next phases are as follows: 

Phase Two: North central Texas and southern Oklahoma 

Phase Three: Southwest Texas and central Oklahoma 

Phase Four: The majority of Texas and southern Louisiana. 

Phase Five: Complete the states of Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas and begin distribution in Arkansas, Florida, northern Louisiana and Mississippi. This phase will also include only parts of the following states: Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
