His name was Matbool. He lived 32 years until he was hit by a truck and left to die. The truck driver stopped to check vehicle damage then drove away as Matbool lay bleeding. No one helped for nearly an hour until police arrived and arranged transport to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
My husband heard about this story last night. He mourned that such an act of inhumanity could take place anywhere in the modern world - even in New Delhi, India. This morning, upon reading the details of Matbool's horrific story, I mourn. Did he have a family? Young children? A beautiful wife?
