Having pleaded guilty to attempted voyeurism earlier in March, George Griffin III received a suspended jail sentence Thursday morning. King County Superior Court Judge Barbara Mack ordered Griffin to register as a sex offender while imposing the sentence recommended by the prosecution and the defense.
Griffin, 53, was recording a July 4 liaison with his longtime girlfriend when the woman discovered the hidden camera. Prosecutors contended Griffin, 53, threatened to give the video to the woman’s father if she didn’t return the camera, which apparently belonged to one of his clients, a camera maker hoping to sell body cameras to the Seattle Police Department.
The woman found the two-inch-wide camera recording on Griffin’s nightstand after they had sex at his Skyway home. She snatched it and left after seeing the camera’s glowing red light.
