First the Confederate Flag, Now the Fleur de Lis?

by Kim D.

On Friday morning, the Confederate flag will be removed from the statehouse in South Carolina and those who know their history are pointing out a significant fact:
The next target may be the flower of the lily, more commonly known as the fleur de lis which is seen just about everywhere you look in New Orleans. It is a symbol of Louisiana's history and was used in the 1700s to brand slaves.

In these days of politically correct outrage, whoever screams the loudest wins.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this historic symbol predominantly displayed in the Crescent City is targeted next.  If we tear down all the statues and erase all the symbols associated with slavery, will this dark period of American history cease to exist?

Hmmmm . . . good point!
