Another fateful story of what goes around, comes around.

By Rob Janicki
The Karma bus made a serious and lethal stop in Aurora, CO, on Friday.  Three young street thugs, looking to jack three guys at the point of a gun, who were moving into an apartment building, found out the hard way that crime doesn't pay.  For one of the three armed robbers, the lesson came too late.  One young robber will now have all eternity to ponder why he chose to commit a violent crime against three innocent individuals.

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)Police in Aurora investigated a triple shooting during a robbery attempt that left one person dead, one critical and another with gunshot wounds.

It was a sunny Friday when three young black youths made a fateful decision to commit an armed robbery that would go bad, very bad, in short order.

Police say three white males in their 20s were moving into an apartment building when they were approached by three black males between the ages of 16-20 in the foyer of the apartment building. Those males demanded their money at gunpoint.

“Two of the movers started to hand over their money, the third mover who was in fear for his safety of his friends, pulled out his weapon,” said Aurora Police Chief Nick Metz.

It's always sad when there is a loss of life, but when it occurs to a criminal in the course of a criminal act being perpetrated, it becomes a bit more difficult to empathize over, since it could easily have been the death of an innocent victim or victims.

The man who fired the shots (h)as not arrested or charged. Police say he was questioned and released.

“I don’t think we would call this necessarily a make-my-day issue. This is a straight up regular common sense statutorily codified self defense,” said Brauchler.
