While waiting on the kids to finish the last item on their vacation to-do list, Wonder Works (or as my son calls it "The Upside-Down House"), I checked Twitter to see what was happening. Disheartening as always, the latest news focused on the police shootings in Baton Rouge:
Three officers were fatally shot and three others were wounded Sunday after a shooting in Baton Rouge, a city already on edge after the killing of 37-year-old Alton Sterling, a black man shot by white officers after a scuffle at a convenience store. While many were offering explanations for this latest horror from gun control woes to Black Lives Matter rhetoric, one tweeter offered a simpler take on why we are continuing to see citizen-police conflict: God - this is what the world looks like when we turn our back on Him.
