Jeb! Proclaims that He Can Fix it!

by Kim D.
The latest polling data has Jeb in the race for the Republican presidential nomination but behind Trump, Carson, Rubio, and Cruz with an average of 6.6% of the primary vote. Despite his polling position, Jeb! says don't worry because he can fix it.

But can he? The former governor has the established GOP behind him and the Bush legacy. He entered this race flush with green (over $114 million). He has everything a candidate could want. So, why isn't he surging in the polls and gaining more support from Republican primary voters?

Perhaps it's because on day one with the release of his trademark Jeb! slogan, it was apparent that he was running away from his family's legacy.  The Bush dynasty has produced two presidents, who, like all that came before and after, were not perfect. There's no denying his last name and family history, so why not embrace all that was good and prepare a defense for what was questionable or faulty in the past.

Perhaps he's stuck with the old advisers, relying on the likes of Karl Rove for a successful campaigning gameplan. If so, he's got younger, fresher, and hipper candidates running alongside of him for the nomination. The old, established way of conducting political business is not going to work this time.

Perhaps he's just bad at campaigning which may be the sad truth. His messaging is way off, and this latest campaign to proudly claim Jeb! can "fix" all of America's woes just isn't working.
