Today in Houston we are having an election, but unfortunately many going to the polls are not interested in issues that will affect the majority of citizens. They are voting about the bathroom and whether transgendered persons will be able to use the public restroom of choice. It's all about Houston's first gay mayor transforming a city and leaving a legacy.
Don't forget: Mayor @AnniseParker is doubling all donations to protect #HERO! https://t.co/JZVYCAnOLU #YesOnProp1 pic.twitter.com/ECsI5jUruZ

I voted early last week for two main reasons. For me, this election is important and it's easier to vote with my 5-year-old son when it's not so crowded. I was tempted for about two seconds to do something I have never done in my adult life - vote Democrat. Why? Because I do not believe the front runner Sylvester Turner will be be the best choice for our great city, due to his past support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
Voted for #HERO and @SylvesterTurner for Mayor..Go Vote! https://t.co/PNEHAI1qCY

In Houston, we have avoided the spotlight on racial issues and the wrath of the BLM despite our tragedies, especially that of Darren Goforth slain in the heat of a hateful, divisive national conversation that demonizes law enforcement. Unfortunately, the best way to take out a Democratic in a Houston election has traditionally been supporting a less distasteful one, like Ben Hall, who has previously challenged the current mayor and lost but represents opposition to the HERO ordinance, or Adrian Garcia, the former Houston County Sheriff.

Today is the day a great man gets elected. He's the one we need for our city. He deserves to serve as Mayor of Houston. @AdrianGarciaHTX 🇺🇸

Thankfully, before I cast an ill begotten vote, I said a heartfelt prayer that people in the very blue city of Houston would wake up, go to the polls, vote "no" on city proposition 1, and then vote for a conservative voice that will end the nonsense of political correctness and focus on issues that matter. For me, the candidate who best represents the values to promote the greatness of Houston is Bill King, whose platform is "Let's get #BackToBasics Houston. Time to fix the streets, catch the crooks, and balance the budget."
Let's do this #Houston -#vote today! Bill King for Mayor! https://t.co/EMvstWGjcK https://t.co/EMvstWGjcK

Sadly, I'm not too optimistic about the outcome of this election. The people who bitch about the ridiculous spending and failed policies continue to vote for Democrats who create and execute the harm. My hope is that those opposing Prop 1 outnumber those who support it. My hope is that the majority of "No" voters have woken up as to who created this ridiculous ordination in the first place - a Democrat - and that they vote for real change in Houston leadership - a Conservative, like Bill King. After today's election, many won't care about the HERO ordinance because the issue will finally be decided. At least, after today, the question will be answered and those in limbo will finally know where he or she can piss in the city limits.
