A commentary by a California resident.
On Saturday our aging relic of a radical liberal progressive governor,
Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown, signed AB 1461 into law. The New Motor Voter
Act automatically registers to the state voter rolls, all those
seeking a new driver's license or renewing an old one, unless they
choose to opt out.
The problem is that you do not need to be a United States citizen to
receive a California Drivers License. Now, granted that the drivers
license that is issued to Illegal aliens is so marked, but here's the
catch. The California DMV computer data base does not differentiate
between drivers who are United States citizens and those drivers who
are illegal aliens holding the illegal alien driver's license. So,
when the California Secretary of State checks the DMV data base to
verify the registration of a voter, there is no way to determine if
that person is legally qualified to vote as a Untied States citizen.
Liberal Democrats claim that by expanding the voter base the state
will realize more participation in our political system, economy and
our culture. Of course there is absolutely no way to prove this fuzzy
headed thinking, but that's never stopped a liberal progressive
Democrat from making such outrageous claims.
It's not like Democrats actually need more voters registered as Democrats.
In February 2013, California had 18,055,783 registered voters,
comprising 48.8 percent of its total population. Of those registered
voters, 7,932,373 (43.9 percent) were registered Democrats, and
5,225,675 (28.9 percent) were Republicans. Recent polling has
indicated that of those people of voting age that are unregistered,
49% lean toward voting for Democrats and 22% lean toward voting for
Republicans.
The underlying problem that is not currently quantifiable is the
effect that this New Motor Voter Act will have on existing registered
Republican voters. What's the point of Republicans voting, when they
know that they can't win at any state wide elected office. To no
one's surprise, all state wide elected offices are held by Democrats.
Both houses of the California legislature have veto proof Democrat
super majorities.
The new Motor Voter Act will simply institutionalize voter fraud as
the Democrat voters begin to realize they can run the insane asylum
called California and can rob the rich by simply taxing the rich into
submission. The rule of law in California has been replaced by
Democrat majority rule, which is a failure of our constitutional
republic caused by liberal courts creating law, rather than
interpreting law.
