It seems that the liberal Democratic leadership of California is leading Californians living in the City of Mountain House down the rabbit hole into an Alice in Wonderland world of insanity.
The community of Mountain House is days away from having no water at all after the state cut off its only water source...
--------------------
...The community’s sole source of water, the Byron-Bethany Irrigation District, was one of 114 senior water rights holders cut off by a curtailment notice from the state on Friday...
---------------------
...A number of water districts plan to sue the state on the grounds the State Water Resources Control Board has no legal authority to cut off some of California’s oldest and most protected water rights.
The decision has Mountain House in uncharted territory, and the clock is ticking before the water runs out.
It's understandable that certain water conservation efforts must be taken in light of the extended drought that California is going through. But, in what world of rational governance does the state literally threaten to turn off the water supply to a city of 15,000 people?

I would expect that the water district involved in this political insanity will find a court willing to issue a stay of the State Water Resources Control Board's order to shut down the water district supplying Mountain House with residential water. The actual survival of Mountain House as a functioning city is what is at stake.
I expect similar actions to be taken in other areas of the state, as liberal politicians try to shift the blame for water shortages to consumers. It has to be remembered that it has been liberal Democrats in the California legislature for a couple of decades that have repeatedly killed legislation seeking to build additional water reservoirs intended to deal with the very drought conditions being experienced today. Liberal Democrats did this while increasing spending or committing funding of other less important projects that were more important politically to satisfy powerful constituencies.
The most glaring ongoing spending boondoggle is Governor Moonbeam's legacy to California of a high speed rail system between San Francisco/Sacramento and Los Angeles. The most recent studies indicate that the system referred to as the "train to nowhere" will never be self sustaining and will be a drain on the state budget every year in the future. So far the spending estimates have risen to $80 billion dollars for this boondoggle, a fraction of which would go a long way to alleviating the results of the current drought we are experiencing here in California.
